LEAP provides swim lessons for a fee for children and adults who want to learn to swim or who already know the basics but want to improve their skills. Currently, LEAP provides classes for children ages 5 to 17, and adults 18 and up. All participants may take swim classes whether they are in LEAP's regular programs or not.
Swim classes are provided at our pool at 31 Jefferson Street in New Haven.
New classes start about every 6 weeks and run for 5 weeks twice a week. You can sign children up for either Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes run for 45 minutes and start at either 6 pm or 7 pm. Adults classes are on Mondays & Wednesdays. Classes run for 45 minutes and start at 8 pm.
The five-week program (10 total classes) costs $80.00 per child and $100.00 per adult and must be paid in advance. You must pay online and discounts are not given if you miss a class. There is a 5 percent + .50 fee added during checkout.
You can sign up for swim classes here during the registration period. You can also give us a call to see what times and spaces are still available: (203) 773-0770.

The USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash initiative is a national child-focused water safety campaign, which aims to provide the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim. Through Make a Splash, the USA Swimming Foundation partners with learn-to-swim providers and water safety advocates across the country to provide swimming lessons and educate children and their families on the importance of learning how to swim. The USA Swimming Foundation has invested millions of dollars to provide grants to qualified Local Partner learn-to-swim programs, to spread national awareness, and to bring together strategic partners to end drowning. To date, more than 4 million children have received the lifesaving gift of swim lessons through the USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Local Partner network, comprised of more than 750 qualified lesson providers across the nation.
